Political Tensions Rise in Buenos Aires Government

The Chief of Cabinet, Guillermo Francos, addressed several topics of the current political agenda in Argentina during a radio interview. One of the issues discussed was the confrontation between the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, and the national government.

Franco pointed out that Kicillof and former president Cristina Fernández are in a dispute over leadership in the political sector, expressing strong positions. In contrast, he dismissed Elisa Carrió's accusations against Karina Milei, asserting they lack foundation.

Regarding a potential agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Francos rejected the possibility that the government would approve such an agreement by decree in case of delays or rejection by Congress. He clarified that any agreement with the IMF must go through Congress to ensure legal security and parliamentary endorsement.

Additionally, the Chief of Cabinet criticized Kicillof's speech in the provincial legislature where he claimed that the national government had taken 500 billion pesos from the province, labeling such a statement as a "fallacy." He expressed that Kicillof must be accountable for his management and explain the security situation in the province.

As for the accusations by Elisa Carrió against Karina Milei, Francos defended Milei and dissociated Carrió's allegations from reality, indicating that they are part of an electoral scenario. He concluded by emphasizing that unfounded accusations do not benefit the political debate and that, if Carrió has evidence, she should go to justice.
